Our story

Willows Green Permaculture

Willows Green Permaculture,

Thirty-five years of expertise serving communities

for the preservation of nature.

We present our initiatives to create diverse and climate-resilient organic gardens. Founded by two teachers passionate about nature and education, Stefan Dixon and Magali Laville, this project aims to offer sustainable solutions to communities and younger generations for healthy food and restoring biodiversity in their local environment.

To train communities, in urban and rural areas, to maintain food forests.

• We teach people to grow their own food using permaculture techniques.

We teach how to imitate nature to create a biodiverse food forest that not only feeds you, but also native wildlife.

• Create projects that ensure food security for local communities.

Educating younger generations about their role as guardians of biodiversity.

• To inform a wide audience about natural methods of maintaining biodiversity.

• Encourage citizens to take action to protect natural environments.

• To promote the creation of natural and native ecosystems by a broad public.

• Create interconnected natural spaces to attract native flora and fauna.

Value

Working with communities to restore a strong connection with nature through permaculture spaces, which naturally promote psychological, emotional and physical well-being.

Our Commitments

Willows Green Permaculture

We are two former teachers with a passion for nature who chose to change our lives, settling in the countryside to live in harmony with the Earth. Surrounded by rich biodiversity, we produce our own food while preserving the ecosystem that sustains us.

Our goal: to show that everyone can create a small green oasis—in the city or the countryside—and contribute to local food self-sufficiency. Inspired by permaculture, we believe that a change in the agricultural model is essential to protect soils, biodiversity, and future generations.

We are taking action to encourage sustainable practices that empower communities to eat healthily while taking care of the planet.

Our story

Willows Green Permaculture

Stefan Dixon and Magali Laville

Stefan and Magali are teachers and former school administrators.

Forest gardeners, consultants, authors and lecturers specializing in education environmental.
At Willows Green Permaculture, Stefan, Magali and their family grow their own food. They restore native biodiversity on their small farm in zone 5b–6a, Canada. They garden in collaboration with nature — by creating habitats for wildlife, by developing soil
living and maintaining a diverse food forest, without chemicals or fertilizers. The mission is simple: to help people grow their own food, restore ecological health, and to reconnect with the natural world.
For over 35 years, Stefan has been creating gardens and restoring natural habitats in Canada and the Mexico. Her practical experience allows her to design resilient and regenerative spaces.
which promote biodiversity and ecological balance. It offers consulting services for those who wish to create their own thriving ecosystems: forest design food production, permaculture planning, financing, project implementation and maintenance
long term.
In the field of education, Stefan brings 35 years of experience in Canada, Japan, and...Mexico. He led school transformation projects through the creation of classrooms outdoor activities and the restoration of indigenous habitats, mobilizing students, families, and members of the staff and local communities. This unique combination of ecological expertise and His pedagogical approach allows him to effectively support schools and organizations community-based in the creation of learning, living and exploration environments inspired by nature.
Whether you're gardening on a balcony, in an urban plot, or on a rural property, the goal of Stefan and Magali are here to help you grow nourishing food and revitalize the ecosystems and to live closer to nature.
