Mexican Sunflower (Tithonia rotundifolia) is a stunning annual flower with fiery red, vibrant blooms that are highly attractive to pollinators. Hummingbirds and butterflies, including swallowtails, absolutely love it.
Native to Mexico and Central America, it is grown as an annual in colder temperate climates. A true heat-lover and very drought-tolerant, it grows quickly and can reach up to 2 metres tall, with multiple branches covered in dozens and dozens of flowers.
It prefers a full sun location and well-drained soil, even poor soil. Once established, it requires very little maintenance. It blooms continuously throughout the growing season, right up until frost, and readily produces seed for growing again the following year. It also makes an excellent cut flower.
At least 50 seeds per packet.
