Blanketflower (Gallardia)

Blanketflower (Gaillardia) is a beautiful native perennial that will generously fill a flower bed with bright, vibrant colours for much of the growing season. Unlike many other native species that often have shorter bloom periods, blanketflower flowers for a long time and keeps putting on a show.

Once established, it reliably comes back year after year. It produces large, daisy-like flowers, often in shades of red, yellow, and orange, and is very attractive to pollinators.

It grows best in a bright, sunny location with well-drained soil, and it tolerates heat and poor soils very well.
