The berries can be processed into jams, pies, or syrup once cooked. Do not consume raw. The flowers and fully ripe berries can also be used medicinally.
This seed requires cold stratification to germinate. Sow outdoors in the fall, directly in the ground or in pots left outside over winter. Another option is to keep the seeds in the refrigerator for at least 2 months, then sow in spring in pots or directly in the garden.
