Angelica - Purplestem Angelica, Angelica atropurpurea

Giant and impressive looking native plant. Biennial. Zones 4 to 8. Preferences: consistently moist soils and partial sun to full sun. It attracts pollinators and serves as a host for swallowtail butterflies. This seed requires cold stratification to germinate. Sow in autumn directly in the ground, or in pots outdoors during the winter. Alternatively, keep the seeds in the refrigerator for at least two months, then sow in spring in pots or directly in the ground.
