Garlic – (Hardneck Garlic). Best planted in the fall, just a couple of weeks before freeze-up, for a July harvest. That said, garlic can actually be planted at almost any time of the year, as long as the soil is workable. If planted in the spring, the bulbs will simply be smaller at harvest time. However, you can plant a larger amount, harvest some, and leave the rest in the ground to grow bigger the following year, while also planting some cloves at the proper time in late fall.
Price is for 3 full bulbs, which can include 4 to 7 cloves each (fewer cloves means larger cloves; bulbs are all about the same size, as pictured). One clove produces one plant, which produces one bulb at harvest time. The price includes the extra cost for shipping because garlic is bulky.
