Squash - Canada Crookneck, Cucurbita moschata

Winter squash. The skin color, flesh, and texture are very similar to butternut squash. A real treat: rich and sweet! The seeds are found only in the rounded bottom part, while the entire "neck" of the squash is filled with flesh. Its stems and leaves are firmer and more fibrous than those of most squash varieties, making it naturally resistant to the squash borer (Melittia cucurbitae).
