Tomato: Black Krim (Solanum lycopersicum)

An outstanding heirloom tomato from Crimea, Black Krim produces large, slightly flattened fruits with deep mahogany to almost black colouring, often becoming darker around the shoulders as they ripen. The rich, complex flavour is smoky, sweet and slightly salty, making it an excellent slicing tomato for fresh eating. The fruits are typically juicy with a soft texture, and the plants are vigorous and productive throughout the growing season.

Growing: Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last expected frost. Transplant outdoors after the danger of frost has passed, when the soil has warmed. Provide full sun, fertile soil and sturdy support. Indeterminate.
