A beautiful heirloom tomato producing elongated, plum-shaped fruits with deep purple-red to almost black colouring. The fruits have a rich, full flavour with a good balance of sweetness and acidity, and their firm, meaty flesh makes them excellent for fresh eating, slicing and cooking. The plants are productive and continue producing over a long season, making Purple Russian a particularly useful variety for the home garden.
Growing: Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last expected frost. Transplant outdoors after the danger of frost has passed, when the soil has warmed. Provide full sun, fertile soil and sturdy support. Indeterminate.
At least 25 seeds per packet.
