Luffa (Mini). Loofah aegyptiaca

Multiple fruits. Short-season luffa. Start seeds indoors in pots at least 10 cm (4 inches) in diameter, 8 to 10 weeks before transplanting. Most will dry on the vine before the first frost. Here in zone 5b, I started them around April 1st , transplanted them in mid-June, and harvested the majority dry on the vine in mid-September. Sponges 10 to 15 cm (4 to 6 inches). Excellent for scrubbing potatoes, carrots, and other vegetables before eating, for scouring cast iron and dishes with cooked residue, and also perfect in the shower!
