Garden Huckleberry (Solanum melanocerasum)
Price
C$5.00
Excluding Sales Tax
A traditional garden berry in the nightshade (Solanaceae) family, grown for its abundant dark fruits. Berries must be fully ripe — deep purple to black — before use. When properly ripened and cooked, they develop a rich, distinctive flavour. We especially enjoy them in jams and jellies, where they make an exceptional jelly.
Grow much like tomatoes. Start seeds indoors about 6 weeks before your last frost, then harden off and transplant outdoors once the weather has warmed. Productive and easy to grow, it’s a rewarding addition to the edible garden.
At least 25 seeds per packet.
