Our Ambrosia and Sugar Baby varieties of watermelon crossed with each other and with our Cream of Saskatchewan watermelons, through open pollination, over 6yrs, to produce early maturing watermelons with sweet, delicious and juicy yellow, pink, red or white flesh. Great for a cool short season. Watermelons can be direct seeded, but I prefer to start in 4-inch pots and transplant when the soil is well warmed up. Here in Zone 5b, that’s in mid-June, about 2 weeks after all dangers of frost have passed. Space plants 30-45cm apart. Can be grown in mounds so the soil heats up more quickly. Watermelons like a mulch which will keep the soil moist and warm and encourage root development along the vine. You can further help by gently covering the vine (not the leaves) with the mulch.

At least 50 seeds per packet.
